107 Plots of Tombs at Kawi Kawi Public Cemetery will Soon Be Placketized

The Central Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency is about to carry out plaqueization of 107 plots of tombs at Kawi Kawi Public Cemetery (TPU), Jalan Percetakan Negara II, Johar Baru Sub-district.

This year, we start at the end of this July by vendors

Central Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda said the placardization on 180 plots of tombs had started in 2022 at Kawi Kawi TPU.

"This year, we start at the end of this July by vendors. For the plaqueization of the 107 graves, we have budgeted Rp 200 million from City Budget (APBD)," he expressed, Saturday (7/15).

It was done for the uniformity of the tombs. Apart from headstones, the burial mound area was only allowed to be planted with grass.

"The same action will soon touch other TPUs, namely Karet Bivak, Karet Pasar Baru Barat, and Petamburan," he expressed.

Second Zone TPU Supervisor, Tuti Susilowati added for the placardization at the Kawi Kawi TPU, data had been collected on 107 plots in Blad 5 and 8.

"We have confirmed that the condition of the burial ground in the two blads is stable. We have also socialized door to door to the heirs and they have all agreed," she added.

Hopefully, planting grass on graves could make TPU more beautiful, green, and tidy.

"We want the TPU tonbe more orderly and green," he stated.
